NYACHAE CALLS FOR STRONGER WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMMISSIONS
The Chairman for the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution, Mr. Charles Nyachae has called for stronger working relationships between Commissions established under the new constitution to ensure that the letter and spirit of the Constitution is upheld while at the same time protect the sovereignty of the people of Kenya.
Mr. Nyachae was speaking at the CIC headquarters, Parklands Plaza, while receiving a delegation from the Commission of Salaries and Remuneration led by the chairperson, Mrs. Sarah Serem, on Monday, 14th May, 2012.
During the occasion, the commissioners discussed various issues of mutual benefit that will facilitate seamless delivery of their respective mandates.
CIC Welcomes New CEO
The Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution has appointed Ambassador Peter O. Ole Nkuraiyia as the Commission's Secretary / Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st May 2012 following a competitive recruitment process.
Ambassador Nkuraiyia joins CIC from the NGO Coordination board where he was Executive Director. He has previously served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the East African Community respectively and had also worked as Kenya's Ambassador to Belgium, Duchy of Luxembourg, Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda and has also been Kenya's Permanent Representative in the European Union.
Speaking during a welcome reception for the new CEO at the Commission's offices in Westlands, Parklands Plaza, CIC chairman Mr. Charles Nyachae expressed his confidence in Amb. Nkuraiyia and assured him of the Commission's support as he takes over the mantle of steering the secretariat to the successful delivery of her mandate.
